It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden yet peaceful passing of Jean Bernaquez, at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal on March 4th, 2016 at the age of 63. Jean leaves his wife, D’Erina Bernaquez, who he loved more than anything else. Together they lived life to the fullest, enjoying each other’s company everyday as they raised their two sons, Yann (Katie) and Gray (Tara).
Jean was truly one of kind and his boys will forever remember his unyielding love, support, generosity, and contagious smile. He is survived by his mother Lucille, his brother Serge, his sisters Kim and Lynn, granddaughters Ivy and Charlize (their dear papa), and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him. Jean had an immense heart, was a caring, thoughtful, and selfless man who always put the needs of others before his own and as a result was loved by all who knew him. Jean treasured life with his family, loved to dance, enjoyed a great meal, and when no one was watching sang in the car like a maniac with his best friend, D’Erina.
A memorial service and celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Westview Bible Church, Saturday the 12th of March at 2:00PM, 16789 Boul de Pierrefonds, Pierrefonds, QC H9H 4T3. Donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence would be welcomed instead of flowers. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Voluntas.
