March 18, 1934 – August 28, 2025

Janet Cameron Dimock passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in Montreal on August 28, 2025, in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Douglas Dimock, with whom she shared nearly 59 years of marriage.

She was the cherished mother of Hugh (Karen), Geordie (Lisa), and Marnie (Henri); a devoted grandmother to Ross, Grace (Daniel), Nicole (Thomas), Alexander, Jamie, William (Alyssa), Maggie (Ante), and Sarah; and a delighted great-grandmother to Scottie. Janny is survived by her dear brother, Sandy (Margot), and her dear cousin, John (Sandra). She was predeceased by her older brother, Hugh.

Born in Toronto to Margaret Grace Cameron and William Hugh Aird, Jan devoted her working life to nursing. She spent many years in private practice, working alongside several physicians, and concluded her career at the Royal Victoria Hospital. In addition to her professional contributions, she was actively engaged in her community through the Canadian Girls in Training (CGIT), the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (IODE), the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) and the Montreal-West Presbyterian Church.

Janet will be remembered with deep affection by family and friends in Montreal, Georgeville, Fitch Bay, Ottawa and Toronto.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Cedars Cancer Centre Foundation or the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
