Greig, Irene (née Baldwin)

January 7, 1942-February 12, 2026

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Irene Patricia Greig (nee Baldwin) on February 12, 2026 after a long courageous battle.  Irene was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Baldwin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Keith Greig. Her son Donald (Sherri), her daughter Patricia (Roland) and her grandchildren, Madison, Adam, Jamie and Alexandra.

Irene was an excellent skier who also took up golf later in life. For many years she and Keith spent as much time as possible in Florida with family, escaping winter’s cold and making many new and dear friends.

She finished her education later in life, earning a bachelor’s degree and a family life certificate from Concordia University.  She would go on to use those degrees working at nursing homes. She also volunteered at a women’s shelter.

We are so proud of Irene for the fight she put up for close to ten years against this horrible disease.  Thanks to Dr Ghali and the oncology team at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Patience, the CLSC, the staff at Teresa Dellar and Dr. L. Breger for his ongoing support.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence would be appreciated.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 21^st from 1-4 p.m. at Voluntas, 4695 St. Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc H9H 2A7.
