It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jim at the Lakeshore General Hospital on June 16, 2025. Devoted son of late Bubs and Irene (King). Former husband of late Julia (Sulyok), proud Dad of James, dear brother and brother-in-law of Brian and late Gail (Sowerby); late Brenda; Lynda; and Laura and Drew (Hardy). Adoring uncle of Caitlin (Colin Nash), Brendan (Laure Estève), late Ashlinn (Nicolas Tortaro), Bailey (Hardy), and Erica (Hardy); great-uncle of Billie and James.
A ubiquitous presence in the community, Jim was the universal everyone’s big brother. Jim’s immediate and extended family, multitude of friends, neighbours, associates, clients, patrons, and acquaintances will forever remember him for the enormity of his heart, his thoughtfulness, and his generosity: Jim never just did for others; he always overdid.
A celebration of life will be held from 15h00 to 20h00 on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Baie-de-Valois Nautical Centre, 90 chemin du Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Pointe-Claire. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation or to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
