WOOD, Ronald

It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald “Ron” Wood (1953-2025), at the age of 71. After suffering through a short, yet difficult battle with terminal stage lung cancer, Ron died surrounded by his loved ones, Friday January 24th 2025, at the Teresa-Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland, QC.

Ron leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Diane, his only daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Max – along with two beautiful grandchildren, Jade (age 8) and Jaxon (age 5). Ron will also be greatly missed by all his friends and community members, whom he considered to be like family. Up until his very last moments, Ron lived an honest life, staying true to himself, and in control of his disease. He left words of wisdom to his family to carry on his memory.

He asked that those affected by his passing remember only the good times and memories and reminded them all that he will be watching over them, awaiting them in the “new world”.

Ron, we release you of your pain and your suffering and remember only your kindness. You will never be forgotten, and a part of our hearts will forever remain with yours.

Please join us in celebrating Ron’s life, Sunday February 9th from 3-6pm at the Forest Village Community Centre (457 Spring Garden St, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9B 1R6).

Ron requested and encouraged that all friends and family gather on this day, to share a word of positivity, or a happy memory of their time together. He asked that the ceremony be filled with laughter and joy and wished not to be remembered in sadness. He also asked that all guests wear their brightest and boldest colors to honor him on this day. His favorite foods will be served, and favorite music, played.
