It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Belding, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Lachine, Quebec at the age of 88.
Born in Montreal and raised in Lachine and NDG, Bob lived a life defined by devotion to his family, his community, and the values he held dear. He was deeply involved with Scouts Canada throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on many through his leadership, guidance, and commitment to service.
Bob was also a faithful and active member of St. Michael and All Angels, where he was well known for his passion for gardening. Through his care and dedication, he helped create and maintain beautiful spaces that brought joy and comfort to his church community.
Shortly after starting his long career at Air Canada, Bob met his wife, Monica. They were married in 1961 and built a life together that spanned 64 years of love and commitment.
His 37-year career with Air Canada opened the door to many wonderful family travels and adventures, creating treasured memories that will live on for generations.
He will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Horace and Emma (nee Robinson); and his brother Stephen (Sue). He is survived by his beloved wife Monica (Ullyett), his children Andrew (Stephanie) and Karen and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ethan, Matthew and Patrick.
