February 1, 1935-December 15, 2022
Born in in Lachine, Qc, true and proud of her roots, she spent many early years actively involved in the Lachine Canoe Club, forging many life-time friendships. Shirley was an active participant with a strong and fair voice within all her active communities. She passionately led many committees during her 25 years at the Beaconsfield Co-op. She gave her leadership and heart during the restoration of her childhood church, St-Andrew’s United in Lachine. In her later years her love for travel and adventure with friends took her to many places near and far. Her food was her gift of love to many. She will always be remembered for her flair in the kitchen and her delight in the sharing around the table, a few to many friends and family. Her traveling spaghetti to her beloved Maine will remembered by many.
She will be greatly missed by her children Daughter Kim Novotny (Jan), Son Robert David Skeates, daughter Dru-Ann Skeates (Rodger Colthirst) and son Guy Racicot. Grandchildren Max, Jade, Dylan and Brooke. Nieces and nephews April, Steve, Bob, Gary, Terri, Jamie and Kevin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. April 7, 2023 at 11:48 pmIt is hard to know what to say when you do not know what to say.
In times of coping with your loss and grieving may you find comfort in your memories of Shirley as a blessing.
Shirley has left her imprint on everyone she has come in contact with during her life, with her ease of making friends and sharing her expertise in her baked and cooked delights, and also her recipes.
How does one go on after the loss of a Mother, Grandma, Aunt, Family member or Friend.
Just know that we are thankful and blessed to have known her.
Sleep In Peace

April 13, 2023 at 7:42 amI so loved her no nonsense way she said it and so it was. The few days I spent with her in Montreal will forever be in my heart she was a gracious and kind hostess and I fell in love with her truth to herself. Rest in peace my dear soul.
