September 21, 1935 – April 23, 2020
Doris Agatha Peres (DeSa) died from COVID 19 at the CHSLD Lachine long term care home on April 23, 2020 at the age of 84.
Beloved wife of Frank Peres, mother to Maria who died at childbirth, Collin, Clinton and Ian, mother-in-law to Susan and Maria, grandmother to Kaylea, Mitchell, Sarah and David, aunty to nieces and nephews, cousin to relatives all over the world, and friend to countless individuals.
Mom joins her DeSa family in heaven: her mother Cecilia, father Frances and siblings Martin, Joe, Tony, Freddie, Stella, and Cathy. She is survived by her dearest sister Hilda.
We were all touched by her soul-warming smile, her countless culinary delights, her annual birthday telephone calls, and genuine love and concern for everyone.
A private service was held with the immediate family on April 24, 2020 via video conference call. We prayed over mom’s casket and our priest blessed and committed her body to God prior to mom’s wish to be cremated. The family will hold a Celebration of Life when possible when gatherings and travel restrictions are lifted.
Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time.
Remember…Mom has slipped into another room. She is not gone. She lives on in all of us and will watch over and protect us along with the other departed members of our extended family.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please consider donations to your local food bank in Mom’s name. She was always concerned about the less fortunate in the world.
Kaylea has set up a Facebook fundraiser for a local charity in honor of Nana and Papa:

May 1, 2020 at 6:28 pmBeautiful! She looks absolutely radiant in that picture. Exactly mirrors her soul and the motherly love she showered on all of us. I didn’t know her middle name was Agatha! Aunty Dorris- you are forever in our hearts. One day I’ll be coming for the cinnamon curry chicken and to eat samosas together again. All our love.

May 4, 2020 at 10:07 amWow! Your mom’s pic is worth a thousand words but I will sum it up in three. A Beautiful Soul.
Ian, you told me with great anguish, that your mom was very faithful and prayed the Rosary every day. Yet… she died completely alone. I would like to say as words of consolation to all of you-take solace in this:
1.The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven
2. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
Did you hear that? Your mom was accompanied by all the saints & angels and Our Blessed Mother up the staircase to Heaven! How awesome is that?! Believe it. They are two of the fifteen promises made by Our Lady to St. Dominic for all those who recite the Rosary!
Also, as a mother myself, I am certain, being a loving, caring , charitable and maternal soul she left you all a precious gift. By offering up her earthly years of suffering and persistent prayers for her dear ones she wove an extension of Our Lady’s Hand to reach out to each of you, her husband, three sons, two daughter-in-laws and four grandchildren; to help you all climb up the staircase to Heaven. She is waiting at the top, to embrace you and with her joyful and brilliant smile say –“Welcome Home”. Alleluia. Alleluia. Amen!

May 12, 2020 at 12:17 pmAunty Doris I was thinking of you on Mother’s Day. You always took the time to remember others on their special days reaching out with a call. It always made us feel like we were important and your thoughts were always with us. As a Mom now myself, I am so impressed by how you patiently and lovingly supported and raised a house full of boys! It’s a wonder you had time for anything else! You have left a lesson for the younger generation to make the time for those you care about despite how busy life gets. God bless you in heaven. We will miss you.
