When i was preparing for my promotion to DD exam, he stood by me prayerfully and checked on me until I was through with that exam. My husband was so impressed with that gesture. Its really painful that he left this world so soon. May God grant him eternal rest

TRIBUTE TO LATE MICHAEL DUKEFE FROM 1981 / 82 SET OF COLLEGE OF COMMERCE OLD STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
      _____________________
I have been directed to write this tribute on behalf of the above mentioned association.
The platform was thrown into mourning at the announcement of the painful death of Michael. Many of us couldn’t believe it as we thought it was a prank. As days went bye , It done on us that it was a reality.
Late Michael Dukefe was the immediate past chairman of our association. His administration was all embracing.
He took time out of his busy schedules to check on members each time he noticed we weren’t commenting on the platform. He had pet names for most of us. This attributes of his, endeared him to many of us.
It is therefore so difficult and sad to mention him as past. It has not been easy to comprehend the news of his demise.
Members of 1981/82 set will surely miss him
Nevertheless, our consolation is that he fought a good fight. He worked in the vineyard of God therefore, his works will not go unrewarded.
We pray that God grants his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. May God comfort his immediate family and we ask God to grant his soul eternal rest.

Adieu ! the best Urhobo dancer in College of Commerce during his time

Good night ! our Cultural Perfect (1981 )

      Rest on Mike_D.

Pastor Michael was a true and wonderful brother. He was a very caring and jovial man, He reproaches saddness with his joyful nature. Always wanting to make people happy. He was always happy and smiling. A beacon of joy to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace in heaven with our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ the King.

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, l’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo, whispering softly down the ways Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

I’m still finding it difficult to accept the news of your passing. Just last year you organized a zoom meeting of 1981/82 set of our great school, College of Commerce, Warri, I saw you for the first time after about 41years. Little did I know it would be the last. I’m sad but take solace in the fact that you were a servant of the most high God and have no doubt that you are resting in the Lord’s bossom. Pastor Michael Dukefe, I fondly call him my man Dukefe, was a rare gem.
The news of his passing on was a rude shock to me, saddening & I was in denier of it.
A friend & a college classmate, way back in College of Commerce, Warri – 81/82 set.
I will always cherish my memories of him, very friendly, his dance steps – a good dancer both local(Urhobo) and English, his smiles never hesitate; they come on broadly, his words are calming, soothing & reassuring.
Heaven gained you my man Dukefe. To be absent in the body is to be present with our Lord. I will surely miss you on this side of heaven.
Sleep on my man Dukefe. I look forward to seeing you on resurrection morning.

Mike Dukefe as we fondly called him, was a calm, cheerful and caring friend. He was also a graceful and beautiful dancer, from way back when we were in High School. As we reconnected a few years ago, through our High School – College of Commerce Warri old students Association (COCOSA), Mike’s leadership was instrumental in joy just connecting us, but helping us to remember other people’s Nick names and peculiar characteristics. We spoke often, and were hoping for a reunion in Toronto this summer. Unfortunately, that is not to be now.

We pray that the family he left behind, will be comforted, knowing that Mike was a good example of a Christian. Therefore, his life will continue to encourage others, even though he is no longer with us. May his family find God’s comfort and hope, in this time of their loss. God be with you, always
