GOLDCHTEIN-TARTAKOVSKAIA, Lioudmila
January 31, 2023

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Lioudmila (Mila) passed away on January 31 at the age of 84.

She will be greatly missed by her children (Marina and Boris), her daughter-in-law (Irina), and her grandchildren (Vickie and Simon), as well as other relatives and family friends.

If Mila could be described by just a few words, it would be intelligent, independent, and strong willed. She came to Canada from Russia when she was almost 60 years old with no English or French but managed to learn both languages and make local friends. Until her very last days she was interested in science, nature, and arts. She kept listening to her radio and watching TV, telling her kids and grandkids all the news from around the world, would it be a new shuttle going to space, unusual type of turtles found in Australia, or a new exhibit opening at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

She loved fresh air and outdoors. Until she lost her ability to move around independently, she went to local parcs, Montreal Botanical Garden, and Parc Jean Drapeau to look at trees, flowers, animals, and birds.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Nature Quebec would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Voluntas.

May her soul rest in peace… she left behind a wonderful daughter who I’m lucky to have in my life. She lives in you Marina…
