1937 – 2020
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Monique Hanna at the age of 83, peacefully in her sleep on August 30th 2020. She touched many lives with her wonderful sense of style and humour, classy and fun, silly and crazy, enjoying life to the fullest, there was never a dull moment when Mom was around. She taught us how to live for today, she loved to reminisce about the past and treasured our childhood memories.
Mom was surrounded by love and cherished by her extended family and dearest friends. Throughout her illness, she chose to live and laugh. She joked with her caregivers daily, affectionately naming them her “ninja angels” as she got used to their masked faces. In the end, as her energy faded, she could still light up the room with her smile when she heard our voices and we held her hand. Her beloved music carried her, floating away on a boat, as she had always dreamed.
Mom, you are forever in our hearts, your presence will always be felt and get us through each day.
Loving Mom to Richard (Thuy) and Suzanne. Adoring grandmother “Nani” to Shane and Tia. Dearest Auntie to Laila and Mo (Rania,Rayan,Dean). Beloved partner of Jude. Forever family to the Duquettes. May she take her angel wings and rest peacefully now alongside her sons, Bob and Roger. Special thanks for all the care and compassion that Monique received at the West Island Palliative Care Residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the https://residencesoinspalliatifs.com/en/
Family will receive condolences at Voluntas (4695 blvd St-Jean, DDO H9H 2A7) on Wednesday September 9, 2020 from 9:30am to 11am.
