KOCH, Walter
July 5, 2021

Walter Koch, passed away at the age of 87 after a courageous battle of the heart. He filled his life to the brim, and those around him — with optimism, humor and generosity. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Walter, whether old friend or new, can attest to his ingenuity, pioneer spirit and infectious love of life. He was an avid e-cyclist, passionate about his Audi, CCR-Noranda, and his home team: Bayern München. Skat player extraordinaire, in his last days he was teaching himself how to become an expert in mushroom growing, and his new iPad Pro. He loved his family, friends, world travel (from Montreal to Germany, Vienna, Florida and back), a satisfying round of golf, and his Krombacher.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elfi; daughters Britta and Astrid; son-in-law Jim, and family Hubert, Hildegard, Cornelia, Eva, Tobias, Suzan, Stephan, Nicole, Saskia and Tobias.

We will miss Walter beyond belief, but will continue to be consoled and inspired by his simple daily mantra:  “follow the sunshine…”
