George Patrick

May 24th, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Adam Patrick on May 24th, 2023, at the Lakeshore General Hospital.

Devoted & beloved husband of Gail Ramsay, treasured father to Mary-Ann, Mark (Nat) & Amy (Chris), and adored papa to Leah, Olivia, William, Sophie & Emily. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, special friends, and extended family. He is predeceased by his mother Sarah McFarlane, his father John (Jock) Patrick, as well as his brother, John.

All who knew George loved him. He was an exceptional man with a quick wit and generous heart. He was loyal, patient, honest, funny, and incredibly smart. George loved his family immensely and treated others as if they were family.

After a successful career in a national sales company, he enjoyed early retirement; spending time by the lake, traveling, reading, inventing recipes, journaling, and being with his family. He made each occasion fun, and everyone enjoyed listening to his wonderful stories. He had so many.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday June 10th, 2023, at 11:00 am at Voluntas Commemoration funeral home; 4695 boul. St Jean, Dollard des Ormeaux, Québec. A funeral Service/Celebration of life will follow at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.

Was always enjoyable and a pleasure to be in his company. I will most definitely miss his “rants” on Facebook. So very sorry for this great loss to the family.

We were so saddened to read in the Montreal Gazette of the passing of our dad, George.

We have happy memories of our early childhood, little things like how he liked to pour milk on his cake, the smell of his pipes, sitting in the car and watching the boats pass through the Saint Lambert locks, going to the airport to watch planes take off, our many camping trips in the tent trailer just to name a few.

We were both so happy to have contacted dad in our young adult life and that he got to meet three of our four children, but it was brought to our attention that our presence was causing him more pain than happiness, so we made the tough decision to stop calling. We kept his presence in our life by reading his many posts on Facebook, he always wrote so well and told a good story.

Over the years we have shared our stories with our kids (Kelsey, Virginia, Joshua and Nicholas) our memories of dad have been passed down and won’t be forgotten.

Gail, Amy, Mark, and your families our hearts go out to you, and we send our deepest condolences. We share in your loss more than you can imagine.

We have such lovely memories of you and, despite the distance “across the pond”, you were never far from our thoughts. Your amazing personality, humour and ability to get on with everyone will be much missed.
