It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Paul at the West Island Palliative Care Residence on July 22nd, 2016.
Born in Dishergarh, India on November 12th, 1962 to the late Arun Kumar Paul, Rita is survived by her mother Barbara, brother Robert, sister-in-law Lynda and nephew Liam.
More than just a talented photographer, Rita was an endearing sister with a goofy sense of humour that would lift you out of your darkest moods; she was a caring, compassionate friend who always set aside her own worries to encourage others who needed it more; she was a fun, easy-go-lucky aunt who loved spoiling her nephew; and a devoted daughter who, in the end, wanted nothing more than to let her Mom know that she was loved and, with time, would find peace.
Rita’s passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and she will be greatly missed by everyone.
If you wish, memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Hospital, where Rita was a patient for many years. Donations can be made out to the SMHC Foundation, Cancer Care Fund and mailed directly to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, 3830 Lacombe Avenue, Montreal, H3T 1M5.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at St. Mary’s Hospital. We’re also grateful to the wonderfully compassionate staff at the West Island Palliative Care Residence for making Rita’s final journey so comfortable. Most of all, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Linda J. for having given so much of her time and energy to do for Rita what we were unable to do during this difficult time.
A celebration of Rita’s life will be held at Beaconsfield United Church, 202 Woodside Road, Beaconsfield, QC H9W 2P1 on Saturday July 30th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
