Lily Joanna Pinto (September 29, 1932 – April 12, 2022)

It is with a very heavy heart that we share with you the passing of Lily Pinto. Lily passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2022 at Les Pavilions LaSalle Residence in LaSalle, Quebec, Canada at the age of 89. Lily was pre-deceased by her parents, Dominique and Agnes Theresa, her late siblings, Ignatius, Hilary (Etty), and Pauline, and her nephew the late Ivan Pinto. Lily is survived by her family, sister-in-law Angie Pinto, nieces and nephews Oscar (Darlene), Avril (Grant), Darryl, Ben, Corin (Tom), and great nieces Lindsey and Vanessa. Lily will also be missed by her niece Yolande (Alan), who was her primary caregiver throughout her later years.

Lily was born and raised in Karachi, British India (now Pakistan). As a young adult, she joined her sister Pauline, in establishing their lives together in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to our Aunt Lily. She loved her outings to the casino, visits with family and friends, or just relaxing and watching her favorite shows on TV. Lily was happy in her own company or the company of others. She will be remembered for her energetic, confident and independent personality. Loving memories of Lily will be cherished forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

The visitation and celebration of Lily’s life will be held at Ste-Suzanne Church, 9501 Gouin W., Pierrefonds, Qc H8Y 1T7 on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Please join us for visitation between 10 – 11am followed with the service of celebration at 11am.

The mass will be followed by burial at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4239 Sources Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc, H9B 2A6 at 12:45pm.

My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Aunty Lily’s family. I will forever cherish Aunty Lily’s smile and laugh, along with her delicious pizza! I always admired Aunty Lily and Aunty Pauline’s independence, strength and generosity. As my brother wrote, they were both always so loving and caring to our family; we were blessed to have them in our lives. May Aunty Lily Rest In Peace.
