PLOUSOS, John
August 19, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Plousos on August 19, 2020 at the age of 93 of Covid-19. Beloved father of Mary-Anne (Peter), George (Martha) and Kathy (Sylvain), grandfather of Jonas (Amanda) and great-grandfather of Camden. You are forever in our hearts and we will continue to cherish all of our wonderful memories of loving times together.

A life lived fully and well. Curious, innovative and unstoppable, it required a pandemic to bring our father’s life to a close.

A special thank you to dad’s second family, the Rolls Royce Retirees. Most especially Ron & Barbara and “The Cowboy” & Judith. He cherished your friendship.

Due to the pandemic, a celebration of our father’s life will be held at a later date.

The family welcomes the sharing of your memories of our father on this website.

My deepest condolences to the family. I have worked with John for years, I passed him daily working in the machine shop going to or coming from the Laboratory. John always had a lovely smile and we always chatted and had laughs. He was always helpful. I was happy to see him when I retired at the retirees Christmas luncheon and retirees gatherings. Very lovely personality he will be greatly missed. Best wishes to his family and friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting John on several occasions for brief chats while delivering meals for the Meals-on-Wheels organization. I was fascinated with all of his photos and memorabilia that lined the walls of his home. I will miss him.

I will miss delivering meals to John. He was fun to talk with and I always left with instructions to eat his dessert first because it was the best .

I’m so sorry to read of your Dad’s passing. I’m in Apt. 202 and have been here for 15 years. I used to walk by his apartment and loved the smell of his pipe. When I would see him, I always asked him how he was doing, and he would answer “not bad for an old man”. It reminded me so much of my father. That’s what he would say. Thank you for leaving the notice by the elevator. Again- my sincerest condolences.

With his impish grin and the twinkle in his eyes, it was obvious to all that Jean greatly enjoyed our organization’s activities. He will be missed!

Mary-Anne, Kathy & George My apologies for misspelling John’s name. I would imagine, however, that your Dad is enjoying a chuckle at my expense.
