June 9, 1950 – September 23, 2023
Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Brant Read passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023 at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence at the age of 73.
Brant will forever be remembered by his wife, Karen; children, Robyn (Adam) and Jessica (James), his beloved grandchildren, Zoe, Cooper and Jem and his brother Richard. He joins his Father, Barlow, and Mother, Lurene.
Although our hearts are broken, we will be forever grateful for the care and support that Brant received from the extraordinary staff and volunteers at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in his final weeks, as well as the exceptional care that he received during treatment at the Lakeshore General Hospital, especially from his oncology nurse Andrea Coxs.
He loved hockey, golf, fishing and watching the Blue Jays, but there is nothing that he loved more than his family. We will miss listening to him sing and play the guitar which we enjoyed up until the very end.
Those wishing to share happy memories and listen to Brant’s favorite music are invited to Brant and Karen’s home, 30 Condover Pointe Claire, anytime between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Monday October 9, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence or to the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre in Brant’s memory. A simple act of kindness with Brant in mind would work too.
