RICHARDSON, Rupert Oswald

1935-2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rupert Oswald Richardson at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of Megan with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He is survived by his two sons: Ian (Mary) and Alan (Ashifa); three grandchildren who were his greatest pride: Robert, Jonathan and Naomi (Taylor) and Nephews: Michael and Jeremy. He was predeceased by his older brother Hugh (Beth)

Rupert worked for over 30 years in the telecommunication industry in Canada and abroad in such exotic locations as Bermuda and Trinidad. He had very strong roots in the Lery and Chateauguay community with his involvement as a past warden at St George’s and treasurer at St. Andrew’s Churches as well as being a school board commissioner and a member of the HS Billings Parents’ Committee. He had an insatiable passion for everything financial actively providing his perspective to friends and family. He could be described as a man with very strong opinions. He had a zest for travel and enjoyed many trips abroad stopping along the way to visit family and friends all over the world. He had a soft spot for animals and loved a good meal especially when one was cooked for him. Rupert enjoyed all things historical especially World War II events and researching his family lineage.

Funeral services will be held on July 28th at St. Andrew’s Church, 46 Dupont W., Chateauguay, Qc J6J 1G1. Viewing will begin at noon, followed by the funeral service at 2pm.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers a donation in his memory be made to the following: St. Andrew’s Church, CHSLD Chateauguay or Anna Laberge Hospital.
