SITEMAN, Alice Dianna

After a full and meaningful life, taken too swiftly by heart disease at the age of 83, on March 22, 2026, at Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire, QC.  Predeceased by her parents, Harriet and Alfred, as well as her siblings Richard, Harriet, Florence, and Doris, she will be deeply missed by her surviving brother Edward (Judy); her partner Terry; her son Michael (Sylvie); her daughter Natalie (Tim); and her son “adopted by love,” Colin (Andrew).  She also leaves behind her cherished grandson Jaiden, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including Branden (Christie, Maverick) and Christopher.

Dianna was a remarkable woman whose warmth and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a naturally kind spirit and was someone who met the world with patience, understanding and a genuine smile. No matter what life placed in her path, she chose positivity. “Don’t sweat the small stuff” was a favourite expression. She also had a special gift with animals. As a dedicated dog trainer and passionate lover of several boxers, she spent several years supporting the development of dogs for the blind.

Despite a stroke this past year and significant related challenges, including aphasia and apraxia, her courage and grace in the face of adversity prevailed. These qualities stand as a signpost of humans’ capacity to persevere.

Personally, Dianna’s life was rich and she enriched the lives of all those around her: sharing her knowledge of dog behaviour and obedience, her passion for music, travel, including her time in Florida and across the Caribbean, her love of life and family. Dianna leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, resilience, and love. She will be missed deeply.

Visitation will take place at Voluntas Funeral Home, 4695 Saint-Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, H9H 2A7, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a service at 2 p.m.. A reception will follow on-site from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
