February 27, 1937 – November 25, 2021
With heaviness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our mother in her 85th year, devoted wife of the late Andy Skalos, beloved mother to Gary (Joanne), Judy (Robert Burns) and Joanne (Andrew Moors). Proud and treasured grandmother to Amanda, Matthew, Robbie, Ryan, Shawn and Jason and great-grandmother to Julian.
Family was everything to our Mom and she leaves to mourn her sisters and brothers John (Darlene), Madge, Billy, Jean D. and Ron. She also leaves her identical twin sister Catherine who held a special place in my mom’s heart and in all of our lives.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her very special friends Pat Niazi and Linda and Bob Fisher whose friendship and kindness have meant the world to all of us as she transitioned to life on her own. Also, thanks to all her friends too numerous to mention that have been there during the last year as she fought the good fight.
A special thanks to the CLSC-Pointe Claire (Mandeep) and NOVA (Louise) in their support to keep our mom in her home as long as possible. Mom’s last days were spent at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care residence where she received the warmth and caring support of so many individuals and allowed us to enjoy her company until the end.
A private ceremony and celebration of life will be held next summer. A donation in Mom’s honour to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care residence would be welcome.

December 1, 2021 at 8:20 pmDear Joanne and Family. Carl and I offer our deepest sympathies to all of you. Isabel was a very special lady, in fact my nickname for her was “Lady Isabel”. She and I shared many good times together at the bowling alley and on the golf course. No matter where, she was always fun to be with. Carl was very happy when she joined the choir, as was I. She immediately fit right in, seemed to enjoy it, and Carl and the other choir members enjoyed having her join them as well. Joanne, she often commented on how lucky she was to have such a great family, and she truly appreciated the wonderful care you all gave her. She is at peace now, and will be looking after you all from above. Catherine, our deepest sympathy to you as well. Isabel was so happy to say she had a twin sister. I hope we get the opportunity to meet and talk together some day. I will really miss Lady Isabel. Sincerely, Fran

December 2, 2021 at 8:00 amMy sincere condolences to Dear Isabel’s family. I thought of her often during her difficult time, touching base with her while she was still able to come to the phone. I will truly miss her sunny disposition and gentle manner. I was one of many who were drawn to her kindness and thoughtfulness. Her participation in the Red Hats and later just a group of like minded ladies was something I always looked forward to attending. I don’t think I have ever met a more gentle soul. May she rest in peace and shine her light on all whom she touched. God Bless. Barbara Coull
