July 22, 2020 at 4:14 amDeath’s angel now breathes upon my face,
Please smile for me remember my
Strength stern my iron will,
With sorrow within my soul ,
Know , my friends, that I am living still.
When at my side please say a prayer
To break the air the silent room shall fill,
A dapper face that now speaks of death,
I am here my friends, my spirit living still.
When, on my forehead so fall the tears,
They shall warm me, from the cold and chill
The last place for me upon a bier,
my vessel empty , though through my spirit I am living still.
Last bells shall toll – that bell, the final call
Of Death, which waits for none
No matter how strong the will-
And when my bier is bare and I am gone
In memory my friends, I am living still.
When the eulogy , priests now bring light to dark austere,
An angels kiss upon my face,
With smile so comes the comfort no longer do I feel the chill,
My spirit set free with my soul I shall exhale,
Keep me in your heart , my friends, for I am living still

July 22, 2020 at 7:15 amMy facebook post of July 14, 2020:
Raising a glass of whiskey tonight, in loving memory of a very dear friend who has just passed.
You were one of my best friends, ever.
You and I wrote and played many songs together back in the day.
In the 80s and early 90s, you were a mentor to me as a professional painter, and wallpaper hanger and you were always there to lend a hand when I needed you, in any capacity.
Your loyalty as a true friend never once faltered.
You were a kind, gentle, patient soul.
We had a drink and a candle light vigil in my Garden Cresent apartment, not unlike the one I am having here for you now, as we were together when we got the news of the great SRV’s passing all of those years ago.
The last time we were together, on (a little bit more than) a business lunch, in 2016, at a Haitian restaurant of your choosing, on Gouin Blvd in Cartierville, you introduced me to the wonderfully amazing texture and flavour of goat meat! Thanks for that!!
Though we hadn’t kept in constant touch throughout the decades, you always had my back, and you will always have a special place in my heart. A true-blue friend ’til the end.
I love you, man.
Rest easy, my dear friend. ❤ Cheers.
