- February 19, 2026

Stephen (Steve) WHITTAKER —(1923 – 2026)—died February 19 at almost 103 years.
Born in Hertfordshire, England, Steve served with Britain’s Royal Air Force during the Second World War, and immigrated to Canada with his wife and two children in 1957, eventually settling in the West Island of Montreal. A loving and caring family man, he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in advertising.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marion (née Brain) and his three siblings, Steve is survived by his two children: Stephanie (David Yates) and David; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Gina) and Emma (Stéphane); and his great-grandchildren Anthony and Alexander.
The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Geneviève Richer and the caring staff of Ste. Anne’s Hospital’s 14th floor veterans’ ward for the superb care they gave Steve during his final year of life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to the Fondation Hôpital Sainte Anne in Sainte-Anne de Bellevue.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, March 20 at Voluntas Commémoration, 4695 St. Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Visitation at 1 p.m., followed by a service at 1:30 p.m.
