February 15, 2023 at 10:23 amI met Michael at a lifeguard recruitment event for the AADDO. Although it was back in 2018, I remember it fondly because he made such a great impression. I knew Michael as a kind, quiet leader with a constant smile on his face. Always eager to be of assistance. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. May your happy memories give you peace and comfort during this challenging time.

February 15, 2023 at 2:38 pmAll my condolences to Michael’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of getting to know Michael this past summer when I started working at AADDO. He made me feel welcomed right away and was always there to support every guard and instructor working during his shifts. My most memorable moment of Michael is when the summer staff had gone to Jack Astor’s for dinner and Michael, at the end, did not hesitate to pick up the tab for everyone. His kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

February 15, 2023 at 8:12 pmMy deepest condolences to family and friends. Michael was caring and always offered a helping hand. Although I stopped working poolside a few years ago, Michael always made sure to take a few seconds of his day to say hello when I was at the reception counter. It was truly a pleasure to know Michael. He will be deeply missed.

February 16, 2023 at 12:10 pmThe first time I met Michael was at his National Lifeguard exam. While he was incredibly quiet, he surprised me because he was incredibly knowledgeable. When he got hired at the AADDO, never once did the admin team regret their decision. His caring nature made him a favorite instructor for nervous parents bringing their children to lessons for the first time. He was an extremely reliable and trusted colleague, taking on WAY too many replacement shifts, just to prove he had our backs. He later became an AADDO ambassador and supervisor, finally fulfilling his role as the leader we knew him to be. He made everyone feel right at home. I am blessed to have witnessed this man grow and thrive. This is a devastating loss and Michael will be sorely missed. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones.

February 17, 2023 at 7:33 amMy deepest condolences to Michael’s family and friends. I will alway remember Michael as a loving colleague and friend that I admired very much for his generosity, his professionalism, his diligence, and most of all for the everyday friendly conversations at work. Michael was my very first supervisor and played a large role in welcoming me into the AADDO staff. He always took care of his staff and gave us sound life advice when we needed it most. I will always cherish our times together; especially this summer’s “Halloween” when he came to work dressed up as me with glasses, pigtails, and hairclips and when we matched again the next day. It was funny. I won’t cry because I won’t get to see you again… instead I’II smile since I got to know you! Thank you for all the laughs. I’ll miss working Sundays with you.

February 17, 2023 at 8:59 pmMichael and I started working at AADDO around the same time. I always admired his strong work ethic, he was always so eager to help everyone. Last year, I had the pleasure to supervise with him on Sunday. He was the best teammate I could ask for. He was always there for me and made sure the new staff members felt welcomed. As a supervisor, I trusted his judgment and as a friend, I knew I could confide in him. While we worked hard, we also found some time to share about our daily life (school, internships, etc.). I will forever cherish those moments laughing on the pool deck with Michael. He had a great sense of humour and would make everyone more cheerful on Sundays. To me it was an honour to cross paths with such a kind person. My deepest condolences to his family and may they take pride in everything he accomplished during his life.

February 17, 2023 at 11:51 pmFrom my first day at AADDO, he stood out to me as a caring and loving person. Whenever someone needed help or any sort of advice, he was always there. He was a great source of inspiration and a role model for me through his remarkable work as a supervisor, his engineering studies, and most importantly, his character. Michael had a deep and meaningful impact on me and people around him and I am thankful for having known him and the impact he left on my life.

February 18, 2023 at 11:17 amMy most sincere condolences to Michael’s family, friends and loved ones. I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Michael at AADDO for roughly five years. Throughout the time we shared at AADDO together, Michael always stood out as an intelligent, humble, and caring person; the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who asked. His work ethic and reliability over the years was admired by all of us here, and his willingness to put himself ahead of others will forever be inspirational. Michael was not only a fellow colleague, he was a true friend. We always had a laugh throughout our guarding shifts together, and enjoyed great conversations about hockey, school, and our families. I’ll never forget the countless times he would tease me for the amount of coffee I would bring into work during our Saturday morning shifts. He brought positive energy and passion into every single shift as a lifeguard, instructor, and supervisor, leaving a massive impact on what it means to be a great teammate and an even better person. I am forever grateful to have known Michael and I will always cherish the good times we had. Thank you for the laughs, thank you for your kindness, and thank you for all the memories, we will be deeply missed.

February 18, 2023 at 11:36 amI met Michael when I started working at the pool about 5 years ago. I was a baby lifeguard coming into AADDO full of anxiety and Michael did not hesitate to show me around and make me comfortable. His kindness, empathy, and generosity shone through his beautiful aura and everyone admired it. I remember going home after my first shift with Michael and telling my sister that I thought I had made a friend already. Fast forward 5 years later, Michael was one of the greatest mentors and friend I made at my first workplace and I aspire to be like him. I remember having breaks with Michael where he would tell me all about his journey of becoming an engineer and he would always finish the conversation by telling me “See you later crocodile”, knowing damn well that it was “Alligator” and not the other way around. I am certainly going to miss the laughs we shared together. He truly put a smile on my face on days where I wasn’t so happy. Not only that, but I will also miss all the times when he would pop out of nowhere to say hi to me at the gym and scare me. He knew that I was gonna get scared but he also knew that we’d laugh about it afterwards and we always did. That’s one of the things that I loved about him; his positivity and his ability to make everyone laugh and smile. I now look back at all the moments I shared with you and it puts a big smile on my face. I will always remember the impact you had on me and many others. I am so glad to have met you, you beautiful soul. May you Rest In Peace my brother. My deepest condolences and sympathy to his family and friends.
