It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Harvey Zeidel, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world too soon. He passed away suddenly on April 28, 2025 , on a peak of Mont Tremblant with his brother Bill, surrounded by the spirit of the mountain he so dearly loved.
A true free spirit, Ron lived life with boldness and joy, always seeking the next adventure. Whether carving fresh powder on a snowy slope, conquering winding trails on a bike, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature, he found peace and purpose in the great outdoors. His energy was contagious, his chuckle unforgettable, and his stories legendary.
Ron was a natural-born explorer with a heart full of kindness and generosity. He was not only passionate about the outdoors but about people—always ready with a helping hand, a warm smile, or a spirited challenge to anyone willing to join the ride. Family was his compass. He took great pride in being a loving father and grandfather, always encouraging those around him to follow their dreams and embrace life’s wild ride.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Ron lived every day to the fullest. He now rides on in the wind and rests among the peaks.
Ron is survived by his loving children Jonathan (Kathryn), Chloe (Christian) and their mother Julie, Puji (Marcus), Khulan, and Alex and their mother Tuya, his grandchildren Hudson, Grant, Henri, Eddy and Sarantuya, brothers Bill, Bob and Andy, loving uncle to many nephews and nieces, with friends scattered around the world. We will carry his memory in every trail biked and mountain climbed.
A celebration of life will be held on May 17th at Voluntas from 2pm to 5pm with family eulogies starting are 3:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SNAP Quebec or the Heart and Stroke foundation of Canada.
Ride on, Ron. You are forever free.

Ron was my boss, partner in business and a special friend.
We first met in 1975 at Peerless Clothing, where we worked together. He was a brilliant visionary in factory organization and taught me so well that in future collaborations I was able to teach him a few tricks. In 1984 we were partners and did some, a lot, of traveling together. Projects were always challenging, but Ron saw through all the mishagas and created productivity from chaos, time and time again. We skied together weekly for years and biked in Vancouver occasionally. Ron strived for excellence in work and play. Thank you, Ron for all the memories tough and serious and crazy hysterical. You are sorely missed, but a special memory for all those who knew him. It was an honor to be with him.

I have always known how much he loved skiing so, at least , he passed while doing so. The last time I saw him was over 30 years ago. He was fun to be around, a great conversationalist and he loved to share his athletic adventures. He will always be remembered by all those whose paths he crossed.
