Bernard Kisiel
April 21, 2020

July 8, 1937 – April 21, 2020

After a challenging battle with Lewy Body Dementia, and from Covid-19, Bernard Kisiel passed away at the age of 82 on April 21, 2020. He is predeceased by his devoted wife of 56 years, Helen Gorecki Kisiel. Bernard will be deeply missed by his daughters, Lisa and Debra, grandchildren, Donivan, Divi and Elona, as well as his extended family and friends. He was a very artistic individual who had a long and successful career in graphic design at Hydro Quebec. He later spent many years of retirement enjoying bike rides, leisurely walks and occasionally complaining that retirement was “no joke!” Bernard’s quick wit, dry sense of humour, mischievous character and prankster habits were his defining attributes that provided us with many laughs. Dad/Dziadzia’s constant presence, support and loyalty to his family were the core of his being. A meticulous wine maker, Bernard welcomed friends and family to join him in a cheerful toast whenever he could.

The family would like to thank the staff at CHLSD Bayview for their exceptional care, patience and compassion in bringing Bernard so much peace.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we suggest a donation in his name to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) who care for the most vulnerable in our world. Any other charity of your choice that you feel could help those on the front line would be appreciated.

A memorial will take place at a later date.
