It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Brousseau, who left us on February 25, 2026, at the age of 56.
A devoted husband, he shared more than 35 years of unconditional love and shared projects with his wife. As a present and caring father, he was a guide, a model of integrity, and an unwavering source of support for his children. He leaves them with the legacy of investing themselves fully in everything they undertake.
Jean is mourned by his wife, Isabelle Huppé; his three sons, Antoine Brousseau, Nicolas Brousseau, and Thomas Brousseau; his parents, Denise Marois and Jocelyn Brousseau; his brothers, Louis Brousseau (Mélissa Blais) and Marc-Alexandre Brousseau; his parents-in-law, Laurenne Delisle and Paul-Émile Huppé; as well as his brothers- and sisters‑in‑law: François Huppé (Louise Arsenault), Pierre Huppé, Jean Huppé (Pascale Gingras), Claudia Huppé (Pierre Côté), Robert Huppé (Suzanne Rossignol), and Caroline Huppé. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
As an accomplished engineer, Jean’s career was one of integrity, knowledge, and leadership. His 27 years at Bombardier spanned all aircraft platforms, Challenger, Global, CRJ, and CSeries, covering the full lifecycle from advanced design through product development to in-service support. Jean will be remembered by his colleagues for his depth of knowledge, strong leadership, and his gentle, caring nature.
To honor his memory, the family will receive relatives, friends, and colleagues at the Voluntas Funeral Home, located at 4695 St‑Jean Boulevard, Dollard‑des‑Ormeaux (Québec), H9H 2A7, on Saturday, March 21, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Jean faced illness with admirable courage. In tribute to his determination, the family invites those who wish to do so to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, instead of sending flowers.

Jean a été un mentor exceptionnel pour moi. Son expérience m’a aidée à me développer sur de multiples facettes. J’ai apprécié particulièrement sa fougue pour faire avancer ses idées, mais aussi sa grande ouverture à écouter les arguments d’autrui. Il était un collègue respecté de tous.
Bien que nous redoutions ce moment où il allait nous quitter, son départ me cause beaucoup de tristesse mais aussi de gratitude. Nos discussions à 7h du matin me manquent déjà beaucoup. Il continuera de vivre chez Bombardier.

March 6, 2026 at 8:22 pmJe suis profondément attristée par cette nouvelle. Mon dernier souvenir de lui remonte à quelques mois, lorsque je l’ai croisé dans le couloir de l’entreprise. Je ne l’avais pas reconnu (cinq ans après la pandémie, le télétravail, etc.). Il a ri et m’a salué: Sa voix était la même, son ton toujours aussi doux, calme et patient ; c’était comme s’il me réconfortait. Il était très fier de porter sa casquette Bombardier mais surtout heureux de contribuer à l’équipe, aux projets et d’accompagner ses collègues dans leur développement. J’espère que toute sa famille trouvera un peu de réconfort en sachant que Jean était très apprécié et admiré par beaucoup de personnes au travail. Mes sincères condoléances.

I was fortunate to work with Jean for several years on the CSeries, during time which he made an impression on me of what a leader in engineering should aspire to be. He was not only very competent technically, but also patient, understanding, and actively engaged with those around him – and he was quick with a smile or joke when the situation called for it. Jean was the ones who interviewed me in 2004 and recruited me to worked with him on the Bombardier NCAP/C-Series aircraft program. I had the privilege to work closely with Jean for many years and had him as my DAD mentor. He trained me for years with his passion and shared some his outstanding technical knowledge to me. He always being there to help.

J’ai travaillé avec Jean sur plusieurs projets et programmes de développement depuis plus de deux décennies. Sa passion et ses qualités lui ont permis d’atteindre les plus hauts niveaux de l’ingénierie et de faire bénéficier les autres de son expérience. Bien qu’il nous ait quitté trop vite, il était disponible jusqu’à la fin pour nous supporter et prodiguer des bons conseils. C’est sans aucun doute qu’il va nous manquer et restera présent dans nos mémoires.

It’s hard to find the right words to express the magnitude of this loss. Jean was my boss and mentor for ten years, first in Core Engineering and then on the C Series program. He helped shape my career and my skills as an engineer. Il m’a marqué profondemment… in fact, I often quote him at work (“you cannot escape a bad design” always stuck with me). Jean always impressed me by how quickly he could analyze complex technical issues. He was generous with his knowledge, always taking the time to teach his colleagues. Beyond that, he was a friend at work—there was a warmth and kindness in every interaction. It was a great privilege to work alongside him and learn from him.
I’ll never forget watching the C Series first next to Jean, each of us trying to discretely trying to hide our tears, then laughing and sharing a packet of tissues.
Jean, may you rest in peace. You will be remembered, and you will be missed. Thank you for everything.
