CONTINO, Connie
August 19, 2020

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our loving mother and wife, Connie Contino, on August 19, 2020. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Fernando, her daughters Melissa and Meghan, her mother Anna, her siblings Rosario (Ginette), Pina (Frank), Rino (Anna), Nick, and brother-in-law Angelo. She is now united with her late father Vito, and later sister Giovanna.

Connie inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a smile that lit up every room she walked into; even those who met her for even a brief moment knew how special she was. Her legacy will live on through her husband and daughters and her kindness and compassion will be remembered by all of the hearts she has touched.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 1:30-7:00 p.m., at Voluntas, 4695 St-Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc H9H 2A7. Please consider adding a touch of colour to your outfit as she wanted all of us to celebrate her life.

We are forever grateful to the Lung Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) for giving such special care and attention to Connie. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to the JGH Peter Brojde Lung Cancer Centre Fund would be appreciated.

As Leo Buscaglia quotes, “I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.”
Connie, you have left me, your cousin, with exactly that, an indelible imprint in my memory that goes back to when when we were young. You will be missed. Rest In Peace.

My beautiful sister, it will never be the same without your presence. The past year has been difficult for you and your family. How grateful it is knowing you are in no more pain. Connie, your presence will always be with us. Now, you have joined Daddy and our sister Giovanna. I love you all, ALWAYS ❤️

To my dear Connie and her loving family. Even my deepest condolences and sympathies is not deep enough to express the amount of sadness I am feeling after hearing this news. As if this year hasn’t already taken a toll on our lives, I now have to look at this life knowing I’ll never see you again. Never have I met someone who was just so pure, always full of life and joy. Always smiling, you made my every day – a better day. I know Heaven has gained an angel – and I know you would ask me to smile right now. So I will – for you Connie. Rest in Peace.

Dear Connie, we worked together for so many years and our small team became a family and you were an important part of that family. I’m deeply sad we will not see you brightening our days with your nice smile and your caring personality. We will miss you so much and we will keep you always in our hearts and we will remember the nice times sharing with you.

Connie and I didn’t cross paths often, but her kindness and encouragement during my first few months at RBC in 2013 helped me hang on to the job, and I’m forever thankful for that.
I enjoyed my conversations with Connie, and I especially enjoyed her visits to Toronto. I feel privileged to have been but a small part of her life.

My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Connie my dear friend and colleague, we worked together for about 20 years and I will always cherish the memories and fun times we had together. You were always smiling and cared so much for everyone even when fighting the battle of your life. The memories I share with you will be with me forever. My heart goes out to Fernando, Melissa and Meghan at this difficult time. Love you to the moon and back my dear, dear friend.

Sincere sympathies to Fernie, Melissa, Meghan Anna and the family. Such sad news….Connie was like a member of our family to us all. Best friend with Brigitte from childhoom. I used to drive Connie to school every morning with Brigitte etc… Such a lovable and charming person, always with a SMILE and ready to help. Very devoted at all times. CONNIE AND BRIGITTE were like sisters…so close…always there for each other.

Unfortunatly we cannot attend Connie’s funeral due to Covid-19 and our advanced aged…Doctor’s orders…

We will make a donation to the JGH Lung Cancer Clinic..

May Connie rest in peace . Coco and Albert

Connie was a wonderful human being and I will miss her dearly. I remember how excited all her Toronto colleagues would get whenever we found out she was coming to visit us. It was always a time of celebration. She was caring, thoughtful, and a dream to work with. She was respected and admired, a determined soul, and an absolute joy in all things.
