It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved father Gene Albert Gauzer.
Gene, sadly passed away on March 10th, 2024 at the age of 78 in Kirkland, Montreal Quebec after a lengthy battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and intellectual curiosity that was out of the ordinary.
Born to Eugene and Mary Gauzer on June 30th, 1945, in Summerside Prince Edward Island, he will always be remembered as being an important pillar in his community, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend.
Gene was surrounded by love. Growing up alongside his brother Phil and his sisters Joanne, Marion, and Carol, family was at the center of Gene’s life, as he carried the values instilled in him by his parents throughout his journey.
In his adult life, Gene found love and companionship with Michele Aumont, with whom he shared the joys of parenthood. Together, they raised two sons, Stephan and Patrick. Gene embraced his role as a father with unwavering dedication and love, and setting an example of kindness, integrity, and hard work for his children to follow.
Gene’s capacity for love extended beyond his biological family, as he welcomed Maddie, Corey, and Jessie into his heart with open arms. He embraced his role as a stepfather with warmth and affection, serving as a guiding light in their lives.
Gene was a man of remarkable intellect and passion. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue his interests in chemistry, business, and theology, earning him admiration and respect from all who knew him. He completed 2 Bachelor’s degrees in Science and in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in theology, and authored a book, leaving a lasting impact on his field of study.
His optimism, drive, and unwavering work ethic were evident in all aspects of his life. He approached every challenge with determination and grace, inspiring those around him to strive for greatness. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Gene’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, and was an active member of his church community. His devotion to his faith was reflected in his actions, as he lived out the values of compassion, kindness, and forgiveness each day.
Gene Albert Gauzer will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
