It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of beloved husband and father, Douglas (Sonny) Gavin. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Carol (Kryszpin). He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his children Veronica (wife to Charles), Michael (husband to Karen), and Melissa Joy. along with his 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Gerrick, William, and Edwin. As well as his brother Keith. As you leave us to take your evening walks in heaven, you will forever be the sonshine in our hearts. Heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the staff and volunteers of the West Island Palliative Care Residence for their loving care, and kindness.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19 between 7-9 p.m. at Voluntas Commemoration, 4695 boul. St-Jean, Dollard-Des-Ormeaux Qc H9H 2A7. There will also be a service held at the same location on Friday, March 20 at 11:00 am. to be followed by his final resting at Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges Cemetery, 4601 Cote-Des-Neiges, Montreal Qc H3V 1E7.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Dear Carol, Please accept my most sincere and profound condolences on Sonny’s passing. I will miss his passing by on his long walks each day. As difficult as it is for you now there will be better days ahead. Time is on your side and a great healing force. You know I speak from experience. May GOD bless you and keep you in his grace. Mr Gavin stopped by everytime he walked past our house in the evenings and always had a witty comment or a kind message to share before putting his earphones back on to continue on his way.
