JAMES EDWIN GORING
October 3, 1959 – April 7, 2025

On April 7, 2025, Jim passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. The professional and compassionate care he received will be remembered by his family and friends.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, Margaret Goring (nee Pomeroy) and Edwin Goring, and his brother-in-law Alan Kuchiran. He is survived by his brother William Goring and Norinne (nee Singer), his sister Linda Baker (nee Goring) and George Baker, Susan Goring and Keith Renault, Heather Goring-Goodfellow and Ken Goodfellow. His many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces will all miss Uncle Jim’s unconditional love and boxes of Smarties. All who knew Jim will miss his amazing, loving hugs.

There are so many who shared deep, meaningful friendships with Jim. To have a few good friends is a blessing, but Jim had an enormous group of friends that shared love, laughter and a deep bond with him; that is truly a wonderful gift.

Jim worked as a PAB until his retirement from the Montreal General Hospital. Having lived most of his life in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, he recently moved to the Villa Beaurepaire, where he enjoyed an enriching, social life. Jim had a special gift for writing poetry and expressed his curiosity about life, his love of people and his wonderment at the world through his words. He was always ready to volunteer, and he built a feeling of community wherever he went. He has been an active member of St. Columba by-the-Lake Church and a beloved, important contributor to the congregation.

Gone too soon, loved by so many. Peace be with you Jim. We will miss your great sense of humour, love and warm hugs.
