August 15, 2025 at 9:22 amWe had the privilege of being neighbours with your mom and Dad. After your Dad’s bike rides, we would sit on our porch and your Dad would tell us stories of how he arrived in Canada and how he was part of the construction of our housing development. He was so proud of his life, his family. What a beautiful man, thoughtful, caring and selfless man he was. Klaus will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our deepest condolences to go out to Helen, Robert, Karin and the family. May all the memories bring you strength, love and laughter. Love Sheryl and Steve

August 15, 2025 at 3:43 pmCondolences to The Gutz Family: Where to start? 2022 Karen and Klaus came into my life when they arrived at the Manoir de l’Ouest de l’Isle. We have grown together for three years. Karen kept an eye on my Dad Malcolm and Klaus was his forever table partner. I kept an open eye on Klaus and shared treats. Karen was known for her fruit salad. Klaus took on the position of reporting to me if Malcolm was doing ok, eating was good. Then there was the game of hiding the fruit salad until Klaus had had dinner. We had good times, sing songs at the Friday concerts. I will forever miss his open arms at the end of the hallway and his endearing smile waiting for our hugs when I made it to him. He could make you feel special on a not so great day. Sometimes he looked like a mischievous kid often wondered what he would be up to. Much respect to a wonderful, hard working, dedicated man. I will love you forever and tell Karen how much you loved her. I will never forget the Gutz family that welcomed me in with open arms and shared hard times. Much love and appreciation, Thank you Klaus and love you Karen

August 23, 2025 at 9:52 pmOur families are so fortunate to have grown up together as neighbors and friends to this day. When we were young, we laughed while we raced our bikes around Browning Drive. Later, many evenings with my parents, we’d stroll after dinner to the park, and Klaus, would slow down his bike and accompany us, chatting about our day, or joining us at the park to watch a soccer game. On our walks with my parents, we would often chat with Helen as she watered flowers in her front garden. Helen is always so generous and kind, and I remember the times we shared coffee and dessert while talking in the warmth of her kitchen and lovely home.
Klaus would often join my parents at our house as well, for a chamomile tea (which he always jokingly smiled and referred to as Carmelina tea) or a plate of his favorite dish my mom made, spaghetti aglio e olio.
His mischievous blue eyes would light up as he told us stories and boasted with pride about his children Karin and Bobby, and how quickly his grandchildren were growing up. Later we were happy to learn of his great grandchildren as well.
I remember sharing a lovely day at the German club with Helen and Klaus and my parents. Klaus was smiling and his usual generous, kind, outgoing self, surrounded by nature, he was in his element, among the beautiful tall trees, music, good friends and food, and I felt how lucky we were to be all together like this on this perfect day. Klaus will always be fondly remembered and missed. We cherish our friendship, share our sorrow and send our deepest condolences to Helen, Karin, Robert and the Gutz family.
Love, Carmelina & Zachary
