With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Giovanni Manglaviti on February 11th, 2025, at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, at the venerable age of 100. Beloved husband of Caterina Tuscano with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage. He will be profoundly missed by his son Tony (Manuella Piovesan).  He was an adoring nonno to Marco (Deborah) and Luca (Kiana).  He is survived by relatives in Italy, France and the United States.

Giovanni will always be remembered for his fierce love for his family, his intense interest in politics and his strong work ethic.  Having immigrated from Italy he worked many jobs but was most proud of having worked at the Montreal Forum for the great Montreal Canadiens.  A man of few words, he was nonetheless quite eloquent and opiniated.  His focus and drive were to provide his family with comfort and security which he did with pride and determination.  Above all, his greatest pride and joy were his two grandsons with whom he regularly shared words of wisdom and life lessons.

A visitation will be held at Voluntas Funeral Home, 4695 St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9H 2A7, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parking is available in the rear.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ste-Catherine-de-Sienne Church, 7070 Somerled Ave., Montreal, Qc H4V 1V9, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., followed by the crypt entombment at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery at 11:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence would be greatly appreciated.

Special thanks to the amazing clinical team at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence who were so very caring and attentive during a most difficult time.
