It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary “Marie” Pauline Mulcahy Mosgrove on August 2nd, 2020 at the age of 88 years, after a brief illness. Mary was predeceased by her adoptive parents, Joseph and Annie Mulcahy. Also, she was predeceased by her BFF, Rebecca Sumagaysay. She leaves to mourn, her two daughters, Roseann “Julie” (Pauline), and Deborah Marie.
Mary had a strong work ethic and was a devoted mother. She often had to work two jobs during a time when being a single mother was an oddity, not the norm. Mary worked at Maimonides Geriatric Centre for 33 years and reluctantly retired at the age of 69 years. Mary loved music from classical to Lady Gaga and you could hear her calling out to Alexa to play her favourite tunes.
Mary was adopted from the Crèche D’Youville when she as four years old by an Irish family and she only spoke French. She always wondered who her birth mother was and that question always remained on her mind throughout her life. Although, she applied for her birth information, she passed away before ever knowing. She always said she was lucky to have two mothers and she loved both of them equally.
We will remember all that you did for us, how much you loved us and we will love you forever.
By Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. But she did ask that we raise a glass or three, in her honour.
