With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Olohireme Ebihomon Popoola (née Unuigboje) on August 19, 2024, at the age of 41. A Canadian based Nigerian, a lovely wife and a loving mother of two. We invite you to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating her life.
Olohireme was the cherished wife of Oyetunde Popoola and the devoted mother of Irene Anuoluwapo and Jason Ayomide. Her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Known to many as Olohi, Olly or Olo. She was born on March 21st 1983 in Lagos, Nigeria. She was a woman of a strong faith with strength in her unwavering belief in God. She was amiable, super intelligent with gentle character providing inspiration, leadership , comfort and hope to those around her.
She had a B.Sc Finance (University of Lagos, Nigeria),Post Graduate Diploma-PGD- Strategic Management & Leadership (Metropolitan School of Business and Management, UK),Master of Business Administrations (MBA) from London School of Marketing (University of Northampton, UK), Business Analyst Certification (Columbia Business School, USA) and held these professional qualifications (CPA,CGA, FCCA, ACA,) across different continents.
Olohi Popoola was a finance and accounting professional with about 15 years working experience in key sectors. Over the years, she led teams that delivered on significant financial and operational management KPI, acquisition and mergers, financial forecasting, planning and analysis.
She built significant network of relationships within and outside her realm of practice and this impacted on her ability to solve problems and provide solutions in the course of her work.
Olohireme started her professional career as an Account Officer with Pavilion Technology Limited (Honeywell Group) in July 2009 and by her sheer hard work and brilliance, she rose to become the Assistant Finance Manager by February 2010.
She joined Atlas Copco Nigeria Limited as the Chief accountant in May 2014. With her dedication, passion, intelligence and hard work, she became the Business Controller and Administrative Manager for the company in July 2016.She Migrated to Canada in 2018 and transferred to Atlas Copco Compressors Canada, a division of Atlas Copco Canada Inc. as an Assistant Business Controller in July 2018. As a result of her dedication, good work and brilliance, she was promoted to Business Controller in April,2022.
Olohireme leaves behind not just a lovely family, but a heritage of love, hope, strength and resilience that will continually inspire her husband, daughter, son, siblings, friends, families, aged parents and all who are fortunate to have met and known her. She will be deeply missed. Her absence will be felt and the pain in our hearts is intense , excruciating and indescribable. Our solace is that she is with our Lord Jesus Christ. However, we are still grappling with the question around why she has been taken from us so early but we resign to God’s ultimate sovereignty, hope and love.
