On March 5th, Vivian Romani (née Descoteaux) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on May 12th, 1946, to Caterina and Marcel Descoteaux, Vivian will be remembered with deep affection by all who were blessed to know her. She was kind, warm, welcoming, supportive, positive, endlessly patient, fiercely loyal, and profoundly loving—woman, wife, mom, nonna, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence made every space brighter. She was also the extraordinary “hostess with the mostest,” a title she embodied with joy.
Vivian was the devoted wife of Victor for 57 years, and a cherished mother to Cynthia (Chris), Jason (Lisey), and Jessica (Kevin). She was the much loved sister of Lorraine, and the “bestest” and most beloved nonna to Matthew, Andrew, Reve, Adam, Ryeder, Dylan, and Charlotte. She was a dear auntie to Floriana, Karina, Amanda and Steven and a treasured great-aunt and pseudo auntie to so many others.
Vivian was a great friend to many and a forever friend to Nickey and Muriel. She touched countless lives with her generosity, her laughter, her unwavering support, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Her absence leaves an immeasurable void, and she will be missed beyond belief by us all.
The family invites you to a celebration of Vivian, “A life well-lived” on April 3rd, 2026 at Voluntas Commemoration, 4695 St-Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9H 2A7, from 10:30am-1:00pm, reception to follow (1-4pm).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.

I have known the Romani’s for over 40 years as my son Steve played soccer with Jason for many years in Kirkland. My husband Mike and I became good friends with Vivian and Vic and had many good times back in the day. Lorraine, Vivian sister is now a good friend that I reconnected through golf.
Vivian was one of the nicest, kind person and always game for a good party. I will be there on April the 3 rd to celebrate Vivian.

April 1, 2026 at 11:24 amWe are so sorry to hear about Vivian’s passing. Our lives were so connected for so many years. We loved beside each other for many years and then when you moved to Kirkland, we followed not long after. Sadly when you moved off Island, and wasn’t driving, we didn’t see each other as much. However, Vivian and I often met after work at Vieux Duluth for dinner and we would still be there chatting when they were turning off the lights. When Vivian volunteered at Nova she would often ring my doorbell at lunchtime and we’d go over to Mike’s and have lunch and just about stay for dinner. We brought our children up together and went through our mutual ups and downs, always confiding and getting strength from each other. My heart is sad today and I cherish with love the memories I have of our families through the years. I’ll see you again, my friend.
