February 29, 1944- June 7, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Louis (Lou) Scheuer, son of the late Guy Scheuer and Aliette Scheuer (née Taillefer), he leaves to mourn his beloved wife Carole Lantagne, his brothers Robert, his predeceased brother Ronald (Joanne), Philippe (Karen), Richard and sister Lizane (Martin), his nieces and nephews as well as other family members and friends.
Lou will be remembered as a kind, caring and generous person, who loved all people and would always be the first to lend a hand and give of himself to anyone. He will be remembered by his love of coaching at many levels, as a lifelong hockey coach he served as a friend and mentor to many.
A celebration of life will take place at Voluntas (4695 Boul. St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, H9H 2A7) on Saturday June 15, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A short memorial service will start at 2:30 followed by a private gathering.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sun Youth Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank all the staff at St-Mary’s hospital for the great care they gave to Lou during the end of his life.
Funeral entrusted to Voluntas (voluntas.ca | (514) 695-7979).

June 11, 2019 at 10:04 pmOne of the saddest times of my life was when I heard that Louis had passed away. Louis was my first friend ever. We met in 1947 when I had just turned 4 and Louis was awaiting his Feb . 29 leap year 4th birthday. Our houses backed each other’s , two addresses apart.
We grew up together. Ran the streets of Glenmount, skated at Kirkfield Park, shared laughs at teenaged parties. I have so many funny stories involving Louis…. the learning of English under the loving tutelage of Timmy Peate. The shooting of two prolonged nails over our Douglas house , and nailing my Ma to the Chez Lounge.
Oh my , what fun we had growing up.
I cannot be there to hug you Robert , or Philippe and Richard and Lizane.
I send you all my love. Xo
With great affection

To the Scheuer family so very sorry for your loss. Lou was a very special person. A friend, coach, mentor, one time employer and a cherished teammate. His sense of humor was as big as his heart. No doubt he will be one of the brightest stars in the sky. Proud to have known him.

June 13, 2019 at 7:40 pmMy deepest sympathies to the Scheuer family.
Lou was a mentor to me and a great coach. He launched many of us onto USA colleges on full scholarships.
He took away so much stress from my adolescent years with his humour and quick wit. When we stepped out on the ice,we knew that Lou had our back! His spirit was a true hockey spirit!
God bless

June 16, 2019 at 9:37 pmSo sorry to hear about Lou’s passing recently. He was one of the funniest guys to be around and he was always so protective of us in the Shoos days! His natural charisma was contagious and he held center stage whenever he walked in the room. He will always be remembered in TMR for his generousity and great sense of humor.
