SHINKODA, Ryuichi (Rick)
- August 11, 2024

December 18, 1941 – August 11, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ryuichi (Rick) Shinkoda, on August 11, 2024 at the age of 82. Loving father of Candace and Melanie and adoring grandpa of Brandon. He will be sadly missed by his partner Happy and extended family and friends.
Rick was a true family man, avid tennis player and skilled fisherman. He had an extremely generous heart; someone everyone could count on. He took immense joy in being involved in the lives of his children and grandson, always ready with encouragement and support. A successful businessman, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to grow. Rick treasured his friendships and valued the time spent socializing with his many friends from all different chapters of his life.
He will be dearly missed by all who know him.
A celebration of life will take place on August 24, 2024, at the Voluntas Funeral Home, 4695 St-Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, H9H2A7. Visitation from 12-5 p.m.
Donations in his memory to Nova West Island or Lakeshore General Hospital Oncology department would be greatly appreciated.

August 23, 2024 at 7:17 pmTo the Shinkoda Family,
My heartfelt condolences to you all during this time of loss. Mr. Shinkoda was a kind and wise man whose stories and warmth touched everyone around him. I still remember the wonderful Japanese food he introduced me to, and though I didn’t realize it at the time, I believe he played a role in sparking my dream of visiting Japan and learning the language. His memory will always hold a special place in my heart.
With deepest sympathy,
Melanie

September 9, 2024 at 8:25 pmWe are deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Rick my mentor and Guru since I first joined Foxboro, then onwards to many transitions that the company went through. He was an excellent man, full of courage, humility, humane ideology and a very innovative and culturally very broad minded person. I have not enough words to define all the superb qualities he had. Our condolences to his dear daughters Candace and Melanie and grandson Brandon and other close relatives and friends. He will be missed as a very dear friend and an avid advisor for years to come. I feel very unfortunate having missed his funeral service and the celebration of his life times achievements that took place afterwards.
