Miss. Jacqueline (Jackie) Vincent

1975-2019

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Vincent, age 44, who passed away unexpectedly at the Lakeshore General Hospital on July 11, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on the 4th of July 1975. The daughter of John and Diane Vincent. She loved her life, her family and friends and overcame every challenge in life with steely determination and a positive outlook. She was inclusive, generous and brave. Jackie was so happy, easy to please and grateful for the smallest things that we all take for granted. Her smile and laugh were infectious and everyone loved being around her. Words cannot express how much she was loved by those who were close to her and how much she will be missed. Jackie will be remembered as strong, independent, fun-loving, kindhearted, and a true and caring friend.

Jackie was always active and loved participating in Special Olympics swimming and bowling. Her work at Renaissance brought a constant sense of fulfilment and joy to her life. We are very grateful to Sandra and Nabiha’s dedication in helping Jackie develop her self-confidence, foster a sense of belonging and always bringing out the best in her.

We will always remember her for her sense of humour, generous spirit, love of food, a good cup of coffee and her appreciation of all animals.

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved grandmothers Doris Comrie and Cécile Vincent. She leaves behind her parents, John and Diane, sister Judy (Chris), as well as Pierre Brisebois, Rina Terrasi, their children, Alexandra, Luca, Mikaela, Isabella and Jackie’s roommates Kristy Lee Fisher, Stephen Held and François-Martin Léger.

Jackie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rina and Pierre for opening their home to her and giving her a chance to live with the independence she craved. We would also like to thank WIAIH, the Special Olympics, Camp Kinkora and all the amazing volunteers over the years who so generously gave their time which allowed Jackie to participate in many wonderful activities that brought her so much joy and happiness.

The family will receive condolences at St-Thomas-a-Becket Church (4320 Ste-Anne, Pierrefonds QC H9H 4Y7) on Saturday July 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m, followed by a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. and a reception at 3:00 pm at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to the West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped (WIAIH).

Arrangements entrusted to Voluntas (Voluntas.ca | (514) 695-7979).

For Francois-Martin, not knowing where loved ones go when they pass away is very disturbing. But knowing that his dear friend Jackie is now – dans le ciel – with his father helps ease the pain of her unexpected loss. I hope the thought also brings you comfort in these very sad moments. Jackie will live in our hearts for ever.
    With my most sincere condolences,
    Louise
