In Loving Memory of Angelo Ciamarro
October 26, 1939 – August 16, 2025
With deep sorrow, the family of Angelo Ciamarro announces his passing on August 16, 2025, at the age of 85 in Montreal.
Angelo is survived by his devoted wife, Lelia (La Starza), his loving children, David (Gennifer) and Sandra, his siblings Maria (the late Santo), Mario (Linda), Domenic (Connie), Lisa (Bernie), family and friends.
Born in 1939 in the commune of Duronia, Italy. Angelo immigrated to Canada at the age of 12. He dedicated his life to learning and teaching. He received Bachelor of Engineering degree, a Bachelor of Education and later a Master’s degree in Physics. His teaching career spanned 32 years; 23 years at John F. Kennedy High School and 9 at Villa Maria High School. He inspired generations of students with both his intellect and his dedication to learning. A man of quiet strength, he was known for his honesty, humility, and hard work and was well respected.
Beyond the classroom, Angelo found joy in simple things: a morning Sudoku and crossword, an afternoon at the snooker table, a good game of soccer, the challenge of a round of Bridge, and his daily caffè corretto.
It was a joy to see him interact with our family’s dogs. There was always laughter when one of the dogs came looking for a treat—of course, he spoiled them.
Angelo valued integrity over recognition and always placed others before himself.
Though humble in nature, Angelo’s presence was deeply felt by all who knew him. His quiet wisdom, unwavering dedication to family, steady kindness, his work ethic will live on in the lives he touched. We will miss him.
The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the staff of the Jewish General Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion during his final days.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas à Becket Parish (4320 Saint-Anne St., Pierrefonds, Québec), followed by a Mass at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the SPCA or The War Amps, causes close to Angelo’s heart.
