It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles (« Chuck ») Colomb at the age of 81, at Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue Hospital on March 16, 2025.
He was hard-working, generous, and gentle, and will be deeply missed by his friends and family: his son Carlson, his grandchildren Mika and Wolfgang, his brothers Matt and John, and his sisters Hilda, Janet and Margaret. Charles has lived in Baie-d’Urfé for over 50 years and has contributed significantly to the Town as an active citizen in many associations and committees and was the longest-serving town Councillor (1986-2001 and 2005-2017). To those that didn’t know him, he often introduced himself as « Ada’s husband » as his late wife Ada Colomb was equally active in the West Island community.
Charles was an avid reader of books of all topics, picking up many self-taught skills.  He enjoyed many hobbies through his life: working on cars, amateur racing, award-winning philately, beekeeping, skiing, carpentry and more.  He learned to speak German after meeting wife Ada, an Austrian native.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 3 from 2-5p.m. and 6-9p.m. at Voluntas Funeral Services at 4695 Boul. St.-Jean, Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, QC H9H 2A7.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 4 at 11a.m. sharp at Corpus Cristi Parish, 16 Pacific Avenue, Senneville, QC H9X 1A3, followed by burial at Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue cemetery, 20825 Lakeshore, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.
A reception will follow at the Fritz Community Center, 20477 Rue Lakeshore, Baie-d’Urfe, QC H9X 1R3.  Those attending the mass not wishing to come to the cemetery may proceed directly to the reception for 1pm. The family will join after the internment. NOTE: At the Fritz, there is limited parking, with a small lot on the East side. Parking is not allowed in the driveway or the small lot near the front door (Reserved).  Additional larger parking lot available next door to its west, attached to the CEP Whiteside Taylor at 20551 Lakeshore and walk up the path to the Fritz White house on the hill.
