Dworzak, Arthur. 1945-2025
- 19 août 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Dworzak announce his peaceful passing on Friday August 15th 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family.
Art will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life, and wife of 58 years, Sharon; his devoted children Steven (Beth), Tara (Mike); his adoring grandchildren, Jaycie (Ryan), Ryan (Maggie), Kyle, Brianna and many other family members and friends. Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Jaroslaw and Maria.
Art was born in Radfeld, Austria and emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 4. He was brought up in the Ukrainian community in Rosemont, Quebec and graduated with his CA from McGill University. He had a successful career in accounting and business until his retirement at the age of 72.
He had a passion for music and up to his last days enjoyed listening to some of his favourite composers. He loved travel and travelled many corners of the globe with his wife Sharon, but most of all he loved his family – family always came first and he was so proud of the accomplishments and milestones of his children and grandchildren, never missing a recital, concert, graduation, soccer game or any other events to celebrate his family.
Art was a man of faith, with a big and generous heart. He was brilliant yet humble and lived his life with grace. He was a devoted youth leader at Northlea United Church in Laval and then the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in Montreal, where he touched and impacted the lives of so many young people over decades.
Art fought a long and brave battle these past 2.5 years with the unwavering love and support of his family. His ever devoted wife Sharon never left his side throughout the many challenging moments, providing him peace and comfort. The family is also so very grateful for the staff of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Nurse Practitioner Andreanne Chevrette, Dr. Joyce Pickering, Dr. Yen-I Chen, and Dr. Peter Metrakos. Everyone at the Royal Vic were so loving and caring and helped him through this difficult battle, and the love and compassion they showed him helped the entire family. As he became weaker over time, they all ensured that he had the dignity he so deserved to his very last moment. We truly cannot thank them enough.
Art’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30th at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, 3415 Redpath, Montreal, Quebec, H3G 2G2. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by the Service at 12:00pm. We then invite everyone to a reception and luncheon following the service. For those far away and unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at www.standrewstpaul.com.
Memorial Donations in Art’s name may be made to the MUHC Department of Internal Medicine at https://muhcf.akaraisin.com/ui/giveinmemory/p/ArthurDworzak.
