GORDON, Orlando Fitz-Herbert
- 4 mars 2026

January 18, 1945 – March 4, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Orlando Gordon, who left us on March 4, 2026, at 4:45 p.m. in Laval, Quebec, at the age of 81.
Born on January 18, 1945, in Jamaica, Orlando moved to Canada at the age of 17, where he built a life rich in family, friendships, and meaningful connections.
He will be lovingly remembered by his spouse of 35 years, Carol McFarlane, with whom he shared a long and cherished partnership, including many travels around the world. He also leaves behind his son, Anthony, his wife Mary, and his beloved grandchildren Chelsea, Thomas, and James, as well as nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Orlando had a deep appreciation for creativity and the simple pleasures of life. He delighted in music, photography, and a thoughtful game of chess. Later in life, he took great pride in creating and tending to a beautiful koi pond, a project that brought him peace and fulfillment.
Above all, he will be remembered for his warm heart, welcoming presence, and the ease with which he connected with others. People were naturally drawn to him, enjoying his stories, conversation, and the comfort of his company. His warmth, quiet wisdom, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 12, at Voluntas Funeral Home, 4695 St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, H9H 2A7, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a ceremony in his memory beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. A reception will follow at the same location, with the burial taking place at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian War Amps or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
