Konstantina (Dina) Kraniou passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025 in Laval, Quebec. Beloved wife of the late Nicolas Kraniou, loving mother to her daughter Voula (Karen), she will also be missed by the rest of her family and friends.

Dina immigrated to Canada from Greece in 1955 at the very young age of nineteen. Like many young women at that time, the journey they made was incredibly challenging, arduous and scary. Despite that, she faced the journey with hope for a better future in her heart.
Her resilience and her hard work made that future possible. She met her husband Nicolas five years later and married and built a life together for 63 years.

Dina was gregarious and enjoyed the company of family and friends. She loved to laugh, loved music and dancing and cooking. She encouraged her daughter and her nieces and nephews to learn traditional Greek Folk Dances and tried to teach anyone who was willing to learn.
She was a wonderful seamstress at home and at work and she made her living in the garment industry.

Over the years there were many wonderful adventures and travel that Dina enjoyed with her husband and daughter and some years also, with her sister and her sister’s family alongside.
There were driving vacations up and down the east coast with each year venturing a little further south until they reached Florida and then further afield to West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi. And later still once Dina and Nick retired, they made summer long trips to their beloved homeland of Greece.

In these last few years of her life she faced some very difficult challenges again. With the declining health of her husband and then her own declining health, she faced these challenges with determination. She is now resting peacefully in the arms of the lord. She will be deeply missed.

The funeral service will be held at St. Constantine & St. Helen’s Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Brunswick Boul. Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2N8, on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. Visitation also at the church from 10 – 11 a.m.
